No contact is useful when continued contact keeps reactivating hope, attachment, or the same undefined dynamic; it is not automatically required after every situationship.
Some people can end an undefined connection and maintain ordinary contact without confusion. Others find that texts, social-media checking, sex, or 'friendship' repeatedly reopen the relationship. The decision should depend on what contact does to the ending, not on a universal breakup rule.
The question is not whether no contact is morally correct; it is whether contact is preserving a relationship you already decided to leave.
